
General Sales Manager - Furniture Sales Management

Pay Range: $100,257-124,319.00 annually (Plus Incentive)
Job Description: Your Piece of the Puzzle Are you a natural born results-driven leader? As a General Sales Manager at Nebraska Furniture Mart you will oversee the operation of the division – sales, service and installation. You will direct activities in the division personally or through subordinate managers, ensuring key results are attained driving towards the long-term vision.
Job Duties: A Day in the Life
Lead: Coach, train, recruit, hire and support staff through the development of vision and direction, while providing regular feedback and recognition
Manage: Set performance objectives for department managers, develop skills, hold staff accountable for goals and complete paperwork accurately and timely
Adjust: Establish staffing levels for departments to sustain a sufficient number of staff to complete tasks while upholding budgets
Assist: Develop and strengthen the overall sales franchise with profit and expense responsibility
Support: Conduct monthly management staff meetings and quarterly all staff meetings, share appropriate information and develop agendas that oversee the mission and critical measures of the department
Teamwork: Network with local and regional GSMs including communications to teams about operational, advertising and coordinating merchandising communication with buying team to ensure the best possible market results

Qualifications: Can You Check These Boxes?
Bachelor’s degree in Business, sales/marketing, management, related field or equivalent experience required
6 years of retail sales management experience required
6 years experience in one of the product categories that will be managed required
PC experience with Microsoft Office proficiency is preferred
Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent negotiation skills. Professional appearance, positive attitude, sense of urgency
Spanish/English bilingual speakers preferred
Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs
