Overview
The Component Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the daily administrative, scheduling, and customer service operations of the plant. This position ensures accurate order processing, schedule coordination, pricing verification, and clear communication between customers, sales, production, and shipping. The Coordinator helps maintain operational efficiency while delivering a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
Reconcile customer purchase orders against 84 Components’ quoted pricing and resolve discrepancies prior to order entry.
Enter orders into the production schedule, ensuring alignment with allotted man-hours and shipping capacity.
Send order confirmation sheets detailing quantities, pricing, and delivery dates.
Obtain signed customer authorization for all order changes prior to implementation.
Review the production schedule daily to confirm completeness and accuracy.
Verify ship dates at least three (3) days prior to scheduled delivery.
Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery updates or schedule changes.
Secure necessary delivery permits in advance of shipment.
Ensure customer approvals are received within required timelines in accordance with company P&P guidelines.
Conduct quote follow-ups and track outstanding opportunities.
Support sales staff by providing pricing, quote details, and order status updates.
Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries related to orders and deliveries.
Maintain organized filing systems, bin systems, and a clean, professional work environment.
Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible for internal teams.
Customer interaction via telephone and e‑mail (schedule, quote follow up, service).
Computer input of quotes and orders while maximizing schedule.
Invoicing of shipped order and appropriate billing of each customer.
Administrative duties to assist in business operations (filing, phones, mailings, new hire processing).
Duties as assigned to create efficiencies within Sales, Design and Production groups.
Success in This Role Requires
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and customer service abilities
Ability to work cross‑functionally with sales, production, and logistics teams
Time management and proactive problem‑solving
Prior POS experience is a plus
Local or regional commercial dispatching is a plus.
Schedule Monday through Friday - 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
