Contract Specialist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position Serves as Contract Specialist responsible for pre-award and post-award functions for a variety of contracts to include large-scale and/or complex procurement of services, equipment, and/or construction for the Alaska District and other Government agencies.
Duties
Assist contract administration offices in the administration of contracts, including performance of termination actions, until final delivery and payments are completed and the contract is closed.
Review requests for the procurement of complex equipment, services and/or construction.
Negotiate contract modifications.
Provides technical advice, guidance and training to junior contract specialists in the division.
Requirements
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position.
The employee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category/Functional Area and the Career Level Certification assigned on the sequenced position Conditions of Employment data fields in the header of the PD/PRD.
This position requires a Foundational Career Level Certification or Contracting Professional Certification within 3 years.
