We supply raw materials (carbon, stainless steel, aluminum) to a variety of manufacturing and other industries. The Outside Sales Territory Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing a designated district. This role is integral to the sales team at Viking Materials and contributes to a positive work environment and the continued growth necessary to meet our corporate goals. Physical Requirements: Stand or Sit (Stationary position), Walk (Move, Traverse), Use hand/fingers to handle or feel (Operate, Activate, Use, Prepare, Inspect, Place, Detect, Position), Talk/hear (Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information), See (Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess) Function in the Job: Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Salary: $75,000-$125,000 + Commission Territory: Eastern Iowa, focusing on the Quad Cities Area Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Purchasing, Management, Operations, and Inside Sales to maintain and grow existing accounts while identifying and acquiring new business opportunities. Actively participate in Viking Materials' short- and long-term decision-making processes by providing insights related to market trends. Understand and perform Inside Sales responsibilities to effectively support the sales team and the district as needed. Manage all inventory purchased for specific customers in the district, developing plans for aged and obsolete items. Create a yearly forecast for each account, establishing plans, goals, and timelines. Conduct quarterly reviews (at a minimum) with the Inside Sales team. Monitor district profitability on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Continuously enhance industry knowledge to become a valuable resource for our customers. Build positive relationships with customers based on sound business practices and integrity. Conduct regular visits to current and prospective customers, coming prepared for each sales call. Entertain clients when appropriate, in alignment with company policies, to strengthen relationships. Effectively communicate the value of our company beyond just pricing. Understand various pricing indexes and mechanisms to establish contracts and agreements for repeat business. Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude with both internal and external customers, embodying teamwork and collaboration. Requirements: Bachelors Degree required unless 10+ years of steel experience 3-5 years of flat rolled steel experience preferred Must live in the territory or be willing to travel to the territory multiple times per week. Compensation Range: The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $75,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
