JOB TITLE: Convention Service Manager
STATUS: Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY:
Convention Services coordinates all aspects of upcoming convention events after the contracting processes. The Convention Services Department is the meeting planner’s liaison to all departments related to their upcoming event.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Execute all BEO’s
Must be able to stay onsite for the duration of assigned events that may include occasional nights, weekends and holidays
Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting the Company Service Standards at all times
Ability to communicate with Guests in a professional manner
Handle all group details relating to the Group Resume and Banquet Event Orders.
Ensure contract specifications are met prior to the event as well as on-site.
Organize the Reservation Process
Ensure that payment guidelines are adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
Understand and comply with all company, departmental and Gaming Control Board rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift to include weekends and holidays
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationship with Team Members and Guests
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have knowledge of Delphi
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in sales or related field preferred
Ability to communicate in English
Must have at least two-three years’ experience in the hotel industry.
Experience in hotel management preferred.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Delphi
Working knowledge of Opera preferred
Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds to be able to perform inspector and utility duties as needed
Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy and may contain secondhand smoke
Tasks performed from a sitting or non-sitting position
