Fort Lauderdale, Florida .

We are currently conducting a targeted search to identify a highly qualified professional to join our client's commercial banking team in the Fort Lauderdale market.

Position Overview The CRE Relationship Manager is responsible for maximizing client wallet share and product penetration by focusing on loan origination, deposit acquisition, and the delivery of additional banking services tailored to client needs.

This role serves as the primary point of contact and transaction coordinator, overseeing relationships from initial sourcing through transaction closing and ongoing portfolio management until maturity.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve and exceed established goals for loan production, deposit gathering, and cross-selling of bank products and services.

Engage proactively and regularly with existing clients and prospective customers to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.

Develop and cultivate new business relationships through strategic networking, referral sources, and centers of influence (COIs).

Nurture and deepen existing client relationships to ensure long-term retention and growth.

Demonstrate expert knowledge of credit underwriting principles applicable to various CRE-secured credits, including land acquisition, construction, transitional/bridge, and permanent financing.

Maintain a visible and active presence in the local Fort Lauderdale community through participation and leadership in professional organizations and events.

Manage strategic partnerships and alliances to generate and advance business opportunities.

Structure and negotiate complex CRE loan term sheets and documentation in collaboration with legal counsel.

Support the maintenance of a high-quality loan portfolio by partnering with underwriting and portfolio management teams; monitor loan policy exceptions, conduct ongoing credit reviews, ensure covenant compliance, and perform site inspections as required.

Prepare and deliver effective presentations to Loan Committee and senior management, exhibiting strong communication and presentation capabilities.

Review appraisals, appraisal reviews, cost analyses, and environmental reports to confirm adherence to approved terms, bank policies, and regulatory standards.

Possess familiarity with complex interest rate swaps and other hedging instruments.

Conduct periodic site visits to financed projects and prospective developments.

Identify potential credit risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and implement action plans to minimize losses.

Ensure full compliance with applicable regulations, including BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, AML requirements, and internal policies; identify, evaluate, and report risks to senior management or relevant committees as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, credit portfolio management, credit analysis, and structuring of CRE transactions within the local market.

Formal credit training is required.

Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or Master's degree in Commercial Real Estate Investment/Finance is preferred.

In-depth knowledge of the local Fort Lauderdale real estate market; advanced expertise in real estate credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, construction lending, and credit structuring.

Proven track record of consistently meeting or surpassing loan production, deposit, and cross-sell objectives.

Strong leadership, coaching, and team collaboration skills.

Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, including advanced financial modeling, public speaking, and persuasive presentation skills.

Outstanding networking, relationship-building, time management, problem-solving, and adaptability capabilities.

Must be (or become before employment) registered with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) and provide the NMLS number; successful completion of an FBI criminal background check and credit review is mandatory.
