
Chain Account Specialist

Job Summary
This hybrid role combines traditional B2B foodservice sales with strategic account management, with a special focus on growing relationships and sales within regional chain accounts. The Chain Account Specialist represents FSE and our manufacturer partners by selling foodservice products to operators and supporting distributor partners in the assigned market. The role requires building trust-based relationships, driving territory growth, and aligning sales activities with manufacturer goals.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
Serve as a sales liaison at assigned distributor(s), building strong relationships with DSRs and key decisionmakers.
Manage and grow business with assigned regional chain accounts.
Represent FSE and our partners during distributor GSMs, food shows, and operator events.
Conduct product samplings, menu ideation, and sales presentations to support operator engagement and drive new item placement.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with operators, manufacturers, and distributor personnel.
Submit periodbased sales plans (PTC) aligned with territory growth priorities and manufacturer objectives.
Maintain accurate CRM activity, manage pipeline, and complete all reporting requirements, including weekly itinerary, key account list, monthly expenses, and qualified sales call logs.
Collaborate with internal teams to execute sales promotions, trainings, and marketing initiatives.
Required Competencies
Foodservice industry experience required; B2B sales experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with regional chain operations, distributor systems, and commercial kitchens.
Consultative sales skills with the ability to influence and build long‑term relationships.
Highly organized, self‑motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
Work Environment The work environment is unstructured, so self‑motivation is vital. Some overnight travel is required. Physical requirements include the ability to lift boxes and equipment up to 40 lbs., load and unload samples, carry sample bags, stand and walk for up to 11 hours at a Food Show, and drive long distances between sales calls.
