Position Summary The Field Guide role is a field-based sales role responsible for driving measurable revenue growth, expanding distribution, strengthening retail partnerships, and ensuring best-in-class market execution within an assigned territory.

This role operates with a disciplined

70% Sales & Market Execution / 30% Consumer Engagement & Activation

allocation.

The Field Guide manages a dynamic account universe including new business targets, active growth accounts, and at-risk accounts requiring recovery. The position serves as the frontline extension of sales leadership and plays a critical role in distribution expansion, merchandising standards, promotional execution, and sampling conversion.

Success in this role is defined by measurable sales growth, distribution gains, account retention, and consistent in-store execution standards.

Core Responsibilities New Account Development

, and secure new on-premise and off-premise beverage accounts.

Deliver professional sales presentations that communicate brand value, commercial opportunity, and growth potential.

Support account onboarding, initial orders, and launch execution.

Partner with distributor representatives to ensure successful placement and activation.

Active Account Growth

Maintain consistent in-market presence within assigned territory.

Drive distribution expansion, SKU penetration, and incremental placements.

Increase reorder frequency through proactive relationship management.

Execute promotional programming and seasonal initiatives to maximize sell-through.

Build strong working relationships with store managers, beverage buyers, and key stakeholders.

Identify accounts with declining performance or reduced engagement.

Analyze root causes impacting sell-through or visibility.

Implement corrective action plans including merchandising improvements, promotional resets, and re-engagement strategies.

Collaborate with distributor partners to restore sales momentum.

2. Marketing Execution & Retail Activation (Included Within 70%)

Ensure optimal product placement aligned with Delta merchandising standards.

Maintain shelf integrity including facings, rotation, pricing accuracy, and stock levels.

Build, monitor, and refresh secondary placements such as endcaps, floor displays, and cold box features.

Conduct regular in-store audits to confirm availability and competitive positioning.

Install and maintain approved POS materials and signage.

Ensure brand standards and visual guidelines are consistently upheld.

Identify and correct execution gaps in display compliance.

Retail Promotions

Execute in-store promotions aligned with strategic sales initiatives.

Support key selling periods and promotional campaigns.

Ensure promotional displays align with pricing strategy and distribution goals.

3. Consumer Engagement & Brand Representation (30%) Tastings & Sampling

Coordinate and execute in-store tastings, demos, and sampling events.

Educate consumers on product attributes, brand positioning, and differentiators.

Capture structured consumer feedback and report measurable results.

Brand Stewardship

Represent Delta professionally in all retail and on-premise environments.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the product portfolio, regulatory environment, and competitive landscape.

Build positive relationships with retail staff and distributor teams.

Performance Management & Reporting

Track territory performance including distribution gains, revenue growth, and account retention.

Maintain accurate CRM records of account visits, orders, and follow-ups.

Provide structured market intelligence and competitive insights to leadership.

Report activation results and sampling conversion metrics.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

New account acquisition

Revenue growth within assigned territory

Active account retention and at-risk account recovery

Qualifications

3+ years of beverage, CPG, alcohol beverage, or THC-infused product sales experience preferred

Proven track record of achieving territory-level sales targets

Experience working with distributors and retail buyers strongly preferred

Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

Knowledge of merchandising principles and retail execution standards

Proficiency in CRM systems and reporting tools

Self-motivated with ability to independently manage a territory

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Ability to lift product and marketing materials up to 50lbs - as needed

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

Experience in THC, cannabis, or alcohol beverage industry
