Advertised Job Summary The Financial Aid Coordinator – Loans serves as a member of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (OSFAS) Student Loan Unit. This position works with a team to administer Federal Direct Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent PLUS and Graduate PLUS Loans, along with Private Educational Loans. This includes general loan administration responsibilities along with reviewing COD reports, disbursement reports, and one-term loan processing. As a member of the professional staff, this position assists in the general student advisement service during peak times and assists in general federal financial aid application review and processing including professional judgment, eligibility review and other aid-related responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in financial aid program administration along with analytical and complex processing capabilities, and accounting experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

The ability to work with and maintain the confidentiality of records.

The ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, communicate thoroughly and accurately with a diverse population, with colleagues and with specific outside agencies.

The ability to make independent but accurate judgements.

The successful candidate will have to learn and maintain a working knowledge of the DL programs, COD system requirements and responsibilities, and the associated University financial aid policies and procedures.

Should be able to work independently but within a highly integrated team that has service and responsible administration as its highest priorities.
