Product Designer
Blink - Employee Experience Platform, Boston, MA, United States
This role is based in our Boston office 3 days a week. We’re not just closing the digital divide; we’re reconnecting distributed organisations, enabling seamless communication, and re‑engaging employees like never before. Blink, a mobile‑first employee experience platform, puts everything employees need right in their hands. With teams in Boston, London, and Sydney, we’re making waves worldwide, partnering with industry leaders such as Domino’s, JD Sports and McDonald’s.
About the Role We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our product squad focused on enterprise integrations and the U.S. market. You’ll be part of Blink’s Product & Engineering organisation, reporting to the VP of Product. Day‑to‑day, you’ll be embedded in a squad alongside a Senior Product Manager (who owns the integration strategy and U.S. customer relationships) and a dedicated engineering team. You’ll also be part of the broader product design discipline, collaborating with other designers on shared systems, patterns, and craft standards.
This isn’t a role where you’ll sit in a silo producing pixel‑perfect mockups and tossing them over the wall. You’ll be embedded in a cross‑functional squad, shaping product direction from discovery through delivery. You’ll talk to real enterprise customers, prototype ideas at speed for pre‑sales, and craft experiences that work beautifully on a factory floor, a hospital ward, or behind a restaurant counter.
What You’ll Own
End‑to‑End Product Design: Own the design process from early discovery and concept exploration through to detailed UI specs and developer handoff
User Research & Discovery: Get your hands dirty with research — running customer interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability testing to ground every design decision in real user needs
Pre‑Sales Design Support: Partner with the PM and sales team to bring product concepts to life quickly — creating high‑fidelity prototypes, interactive demos, and visual mockups that help win complex enterprise deals
Design System Stewardship: Be a guardian and contributor to Blink’s design system, ensuring consistency across mobile and web while evolving components to meet the needs of new product areas
Squad Collaboration: Work as an embedded member of the squad alongside engineering and product management, participating in sprint ceremonies, design reviews, and daily decision‑making
Cross‑Platform Excellence: Design mobile‑first experiences that work for frontline workers in challenging environments (low connectivity, shared devices, varied literacy levels) while also delivering polished desktop experiences for admins and integrators
Requirements What You Bring
5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end ownership of B2B SaaS products — ideally in HR tech, employee experience, internal comms, or enterprise platforms
Mobile‑first design expertise. You think natively in mobile patterns and understand the constraints and opportunities of designing for frontline, non‑desk workers
Research‑driven mindset. You’re comfortable planning and running user research, synthesising findings, and advocating for users in product discussions
Design tool proficiency. Expert in Figma (our primary tool) with strong prototyping skills. You can spin up interactive prototypes quickly when the sales team needs them yesterday
Systems thinking. You understand how to design for complex integration workflows, data flows, and admin configurations without losing sight of the end‑user experience
Communication skills. You can articulate design rationale to engineers, PMs, and stakeholders. You present work confidently and take feedback constructively
Squad‑player mentality. You thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced squad environment. You enjoy the back‑and‑forth with PMs and engineers and see development as a team sport
Nice to Have
Experience designing for enterprise integration UIs (configuration screens, data mapping, sync status dashboards)
Familiarity with front‑end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) — enough to have productive conversations with engineers and understand implementation trade‑offs
Experience supporting pre‑sales processes, including rapid prototyping for RFPs and customer demos
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
Experience working in a scaling startup environment where you’ve had to balance speed with quality
Benefits Why Blink? You will have the opportunity to be part of something impactful, large‑scale, and meaningful. Most importantly, you’ll work for a company with a strong purpose, with an ambitious and supportive team embarking on a journey most start‑ups can only dream of!
Benefits include:
A competitive salary
Generous equity allocations with significant upside potential
20 days leave + public holidays 401(k) – a generous plan to help you save for a bright future
Private health insurance – we’ll pay for your medical, dental, and vision coverage
Enhanced parental leave
Additional time off between Christmas and New Year
The ability for you to grow, learn and solve a variety of challenges, working in a supportive environment with smart, talented people
Social events (lunches, breakfasts, nights out)
