Senior Manager, Payment Strategic Partnerships Expedia Product & Technology builds innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high‑quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences for the traveler and our partners that drive loyalty and customer satisfaction.
Expedia Group’s Global Payments (EGP) is responsible for tens of billions of incoming payments from travelers, outgoing payments to travel suppliers, and commission payments from travel suppliers. We partner closely with a wide range of payment partners globally, including gateways, acquirers, card networks, issuers and fintech companies.
The Senior Manager, Payment Strategic Partnerships role will focus on emerging players in the industry, including fintech companies, value‑added services, emerging payments orchestration enablers, and other innovative players. This role will directly identify the right fintech partners, define deal structure, execute agreements, manage relationships, and oversee partner performance.
In This Role, You Will Payment Industry Intelligence, Innovations and Trends
Stay abreast of commercial, regulatory, and innovative trends in the payment industry and act as the trusted thought partner for Expedia Global Payments leadership.
Use your experience and partner relationships to advocate for scalable, simplified, and impactful solutions within a complex environment.
Ensure our payment business benefits from partner expertise, insights, capabilities, and innovations.
Strategy / Solution Development
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and business owners to identify the right strategic approach and solutions.
Lead business case development, review, and approval, including key stakeholders in product, tech, and finance.
Strategic Alignment & Execution with External Partners
Systematically identify and execute opportunities with significant impact.
Lead short‑ to long‑term commercial plans with partners.
Drive commercial negotiations, deal structuring and contracting.
Conduct industry benchmarking, RFIs, RFPs, or similar activities.
Drive Commercial Deal from Concept to Results with Internal Teams
Provide transparent and effective business decision‑making.
Serve as Expedia Group’s go‑to person for the partner.
Calibrate priorities, value, and vision of the identified opportunities with internal teams.
Ensure high‑quality, timely delivery of prioritized initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Proven e‑commerce or payment experience.
Established experience working with external partners.
Prior experience in major contract negotiations and deal construction.
Excellent communication and influencing skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in multiple areas such as credit card, financing, virtual card, crypto, AI, B2B payments, or currency exchange.
A history of identifying and executing impactful opportunities with payment partners.
Experience influencing senior executives.
Ability to collaborate, instill strategic vision, and lead with simplification.
Experience navigating ambiguity and executing with agility.
Compensation The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role can potentially increase their pay to $233,500.00 based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance. Similar ranges apply to other listed locations.
