Job Summary/Description: We’re looking for a creative, fast‑paced, detail‑oriented Social Media Content Creator to join our marketing team. This entry‑level position is perfect for someone who lives and breathes social media, understands what makes audiences engage, and thrives in a newsroom environment. The Social Media Content Creator will be responsible for executing daily social media content across all platforms while supporting the station’s overall digital and brand strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Publish daily posts across all station social media platforms
Film and edit short‑form video content for social platforms using an iPhone and mobile editing software
Capture high‑quality photos and video in the field for use across digital platforms
Coordinate closely with the News Team to identify timely, engaging content
Gather and organize videos, photos, and other assets for social posts
Write compelling, audience‑focused captions that drive engagement and clicks
Monitor trends and adapt content to stay relevant and competitive
Measure and analyze social performance metrics to evaluate success
Follow and execute the station’s brand and marketing strategy
Meet all deadlines and content expectations set by the Marketing Director
Strong writing skills with the ability to craft engaging, platform‑specific captions
Qualifications/Requirements:
Understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
Basic knowledge of social media analytics and performance tracking
Ability to independently film and edit social‑first content using an iPhone and mobile editing tools (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.)
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
Team player who can collaborate effectively with newsroom staff
Awareness of social media trends and digital storytelling techniques
Ability to work in a fast‑paced media environment
