Overview

The Coordinator, Patient Relations core function entails compiling, processing and sending all patient documentation to insurance plans and other agencies as requested for the grievance process. The coordinator is the key compiler and expeditor of patient information for the Patient Relations department. The coordinator is responsible for ensuring records are pulled and organized for analysis as well as compressed and viewable for insurance plans and other agencies. Additionally, the coordinator is also responsible for supporting dental offices by drafting form letters when required.

Responsibilities Retrieve, correlate, condense and save patient records from various sources: EPIC, QSI, CPS, Ortho systems, etc. Send patient records to insurance carriers by grievance deadlines Participate as a team member on unit and department projects to provide project specific subject matter expertise Contribute to the development and distribution of Best Practices within the department Research, retrieve and compile information (Internet, division Web sites, Company Web sites) as required by the management team and direct reports Send out all HIPAA related requests Categorize all resolution outcomes Send winning resolution response letter to offices Back-up to fielding incoming Patient Relations calls Back-up to department case logging activates Back-up monthly reporting Draft standardized letters (releases/dismissals) for pre-grievances Draft a variety of grievance response letters Send analytical instructions for resolution loss letters Other duties assigned by Management Qualifications

0-2 Years of related work experience Equivalent to high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Knowledge of WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, EPIC and QSI software applications Preferred

Prior coursework or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, business, or training Operational knowledge of medical/ dental offices Knowledge of EPIC and QSI software applications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience is required Field Office experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
