Position Summary
The Director of Rehabilitation Services is entrusted with the strategic leadership and development of the rehabilitation program, ensuring its effectiveness, integrity, and alignment with The Salvation Army's mission and values. This role oversees daily operations, staff supervision, compliance, counseling services, program development, and community partnerships while ensuring alignment with Christian values and evidence-based recovery practices.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
In tandem with the Administrator for Program provide visionary leadership in supervising and developing the rehabilitation program to meet organizational goals and community needs.
Continuously evaluate rehabilitation program effectiveness, adapting plans as needed, and intervening in crises to ensure holistic care.
Manage the center's activity schedule, ensuring optimal staffing for all sessions and activities to maximize program impact.
Chair rehabilitation staff and grant meetings, promoting collaboration, accountability, and strategic alignment.
Oversee beneficiary program orientation and communicate program standards effectively to all participants.
Assign and oversee individual and group counseling sessions, taking an active role in crisis intervention, and addressing beneficiaries' social and emotional challenges. Personally provide individual and group counseling as needed.
Assess beneficiaries' spiritual needs and facilitate referrals to Chaplain/Administrators, ensuring holistic care and spiritual support.
Collaborate with counseling staff to develop, review, and implement individual rehabilitation plans utilizing Salvation Army resources and external community partnerships.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Operations on daily work therapy assignments and program integration within broader organizational initiatives.
Develop and implement special projects and services aimed at enhancing program outcomes and community impact.
Administrative Duties
Responsible for oversite of administrative tasks within the program department, ensuring accurate timely reporting and documentation as per Salvation Army policy and standards.
Monitor and optimize staff utilization of electronic beneficiary files, background information gathering, and accurate timely data entry to maintain program efficiency and compliance.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports required by Salvation Army policy and administration, demonstrating program effectiveness and impact.
Finance Management
Participates in annual budget preparation for the program department.
Reviews monthly budget expenditures for the program department and works with the team to keep program expenditures in line with budget.
Staff Supervision & Development
Oversee recruitment, training, and supervision of a skilled and dedicated program team aligned with Salvation Army values.
Provide clarification and training to center program staff on TSA ARC Program Manual, Beneficiary Handbook, and all ARC Program Policies. Review regularly for compliance.
Manage staffing schedule and timecard approvals for the program team.
Provide regular staff reviews including positive feedback and corrective action as needed.
Supervise the Internship Training Program, including student recruitment, supervision, and mentorship to support future leaders in the field.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
Cultivate networking relationships with community agencies to encourage appropriate referrals and broaden program reach.
Embody and promote The Salvation Army's mission statement and values in all aspects of program leadership and community engagement.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Behavioral Health, or related field
Two years of administrative experience in addiction services within a faith-based or community service organization, demonstrating a commitment to compassionate care and Christian principles.
Must possess a valid Driver's License and qualify for Salvation Army insurance.
Personal belief in Christian Living and Spiritual Regeneration as the solution to community disaffiliations, demonstrated through personal Christian testimony or experience.
Ability to effectively communicate and exemplify a commitment to meeting human needs in the name of Jesus Christ.

Some warehouse/store site visits. Closed-toe shoes with rubber soles are required for warehouse visits.
Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to ensure program continuity and responsiveness.
Local travel within KS & MO as needed.
Minimal national travel for training and events throughout the year.
