Member Service Representative

is responsible for below specific duties.

Your specific duties will include:\nServe as the primary liaison between members and the Credit Union, providing courteous, professional, and efficient service.\nAssist members with daily banking needs, including providing account information and guidance on Credit Union products and services.\nProcess routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments with accuracy.\nOpen and service member accounts, including checking/savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), and IRAs.\nPrepare and process required documentation for new accounts, account maintenance, and related services.\nAccept and process loan applications and assist members with loan-related requests.\nHandle member requests such as stop payments, ATM/debit card orders, temporary checks, check orders, and line-of-credit advances.\nResearch and resolve member account questions or discrepancies related to transactions, fees, overdrafts, and account activity.\nCross-sell and promote Credit Union products and services to meet member financial needs.\nRequired qualifications for the position include:

1-2 years of experience working in a Credit Union or Banking environment.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions.\nPreferred qualifications for the position include:

Teller or Cash handling experience.\nCompensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Consult with members to identify and cross offer products and services that meet the member's financial needs.\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities:\nExpeditiously greet members in a courteous and professional manner and provide routine information concerning services.\nAccurately receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sell negotiable instruments; transfer amounts from member accounts as directed and maintain member records.\nEducate and cross-offer credit union products/services that most benefit the individual member. Maintain a standard referral rate set forth by credit union business plan.\nBalance cash drawer and daily transactions to maintain required 90% balancing ratio set forth by credit union business plan.\nPerform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including but not limited to monthly reports and computer input.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPerformance Measurements:\nMaintain privacy of member account information.\nProvide courteous, professional, personal service to all internal and external members.\nAccurately balance cash drawer each day.\nStrive for posting accuracy to be measured in employee performance evaluations.\nTroubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, courteous and accurate manner.\nComplete required annual training and adhere to all security procedures and regulatory guidelines including Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act and IT Security.\nKnowledgeable of various accounts and services to consult with members, cross-offer other services and refer members to the proper staff person as needed.\nParticipate in continuing education through training programs as assigned.

Interpersonal Skills:\nCourtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.\nWork involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.\nStrong listening, verbal and written communication and technology skills are required.

Other Skills:\nGood computer and keyboarding skills.\nAttentiveness to detail in dealing with numbers and names.\nAbility to multi-task, adjust to change, and to make decisions which are consistent with credit union policy, but have the ability to use discernment and good judgment when making exceptions without compromising our mission and core values.\nAbility to recognize and act upon sales opportunities.\nInitiative.\nA strong commitment to continued education.\nRemain calm in high activity conditions, team oriented.

Disburses share withdrawals by cash or check. Processes coin. Receives and processes loan payments and IRA or HSA contributions. Processes Visa payments and cash advances. Scans checks and teller work daily.\nResponds to members basic questions concerning their accounts. When working Saturday morning, this employee will have a 1/2 day off during the same calendar week. This position will be based out of our Wedcor Ave Member Center but will split time with the Wabash Miami St. Member Center.
