Mechanical Estimator
needed for a well-established mechanical / HVAC contractor delivering projects across New York City and Long Island.
This contractor operates out of Yonkers, Manhattan, and Nassau County, so the role offers flexibility depending on where candidates are based.
Role Overview The Estimator will be responsible for preparing detailed bids for HVAC and mechanical construction projects, supporting the preconstruction process from drawing review through bid submission.
Your main duties will include:
Preparing detailed estimates for HVAC scopes including ductwork, piping, and equipment
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Performing quantity takeoffs and labor pricing
Soliciting and leveling subcontractor and vendor quotes
Supporting bid strategy and value engineering opportunities
Assisting with project handover to operations teams following award
To be successful, you will possess:
2+ years of experience estimating HVAC / mechanical construction projects
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong takeoff and cost analysis skills
Experience working with mechanical contractors preferred
