SAP Functional Consultant – PS & SD

The SAP Functional Consultant – PS & SD will be responsible for leading end-to-end implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAP Project Systems (PS) and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules. The role involves translating complex project-based sales and commercial business requirements into scalable SAP solutions while ensuring seamless cross-module integration and stable system performance.
This position requires strong functional expertise, business process understanding, and the ability to collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders across project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
Lead business requirement gathering workshops and perform detailed Fit-Gap analysis for project-based sales and commercial processes
Design and configure SAP PS components including WBS elements, Network Activities, Cost Planning, Budgeting, and Progress Tracking
Configure SAP SD processes including Order Management, Pricing, Billing, and Resource-Related Billing
Develop comprehensive Functional Specifications (FS) for custom developments, enhancements, reports, and interfaces
Collaborate closely with ABAP developers to guide technical design, validate logic, and support debugging activities
Execute Unit Testing (UT) and System Integration Testing (SIT), and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles
Manage defect resolution, bug tracking, and system stabilization activities
Plan and execute Cutover activities including master data migration for projects and sales contracts
Provide Hypercare and post-go-live support to ensure stable system adoption
Aligning complex project-based sales processes with standard SAP functionalities
Managing cross-module dependencies between PS, SD, MM, and FICO
Ensuring accurate revenue recognition and project costing integration
Balancing business expectations with system limitations and technical feasibility
Supporting system stability during go-live and post-deployment phases
Success Metrics
Successful delivery of PS & SD implementations within scope and timelines
Accurate system configuration with minimal post-go-live defects
Seamless integration between PS, SD, MM, and FICO modules
High user adoption and stable system performance post go-live
Timely completion of testing cycles and defect resolution
Job Requirements Experience
Total Experience: 6+ years
4+ years of post-MBA experience as a Functional Consultant in SAP PS and SD modules
2 years of prior domain experience in Project Management, Sales, or Commercial Operations
Qualifications
Full-time MBA (Operations, Finance, or Marketing)
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
Strong functional expertise in S/4HANA Project Systems and Sales & Distribution
Familiarity with Fiori applications and integration with SAP FICO
Strong understanding of cross-module integration across PS, SD, MM, and FICO
