About the Role We are seeking a Part-Time Tax Preparer to support our growing business tax practice. This role is focused strictly on the technical preparation of federal and state returns (not filing) for complex, multi-layered LLCs and corporate entities. This is an ideal role for a seasoned tax professional looking for a stable, high-level workload without the "Big 4" hours.
Responsibilities
Prepare federal and state tax returns for Partnerships (1065), S-Corps (1120S), and C-Corps (1120).
Navigate and analyze complex multi-tier LLC ownership structures and intercompany relationships.
Review and interpret K-1s, trial balances, and financial statements for tax readiness.
Identify critical tax adjustments and manage book-to-tax differences.
Develop accurate workpapers and supporting documentation to ensure a seamless review process.
Utilize UltraTax (or similar professional software) to execute high-quality tax preparation.
Qualifications
3+ years of dedicated tax preparation experience focused on business entities.
Deep technical knowledge of multi-layer LLC structures and partnership taxation.
Proficiency in UltraTax is preferred (Lacerte or ProSeries experience is acceptable).
CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is a plus but not required.
Ability to work independently and manage a sophisticated desk with minimal oversight.
Required Skills Technical expertise in tax preparation and knowledge of complex entity structures.
Preferred Skills Experience with UltraTax or similar software.
