Spirits Sales Representative – Western and Central Maine
Leading wine and spirits distributor, M.S. Walker, is looking for an experienced, self-motivated,
Spirits Sales Representative . Ideal candidate will achieve maximum sales profitability by representing the sales portfolio to customers in the State of Maine and solicit new business for the company while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Call on Agency stores and on-premise accounts within a geographical territory
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of M.S. Walker portfolio and understand competitive products
Contact new and existing customers to discuss their product needs through a relationship-based approach
Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, social media, participating in organizations and clubs and attending trade shows and conferences
Discuss pricing and answer customer questions about products, prices and availability
Prepare and deliver presentations to on-premise accounts balancing the company’s priorities and customer needs, including menu concepts, new product introduction, and promotions
Prepare and deliver presentations to off-premise accounts balancing the company’s priorities and customer needs, including shelf management and product placements
Establish display opportunities, setup and refresh retail displays
Participate in retail shelf resets
Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, tastings, work‑withs and special events
Help create additional opportunities to sell the MSW portfolio
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information
Strategize on how best to achieve sales and merchandising objectives on a monthly basis
Communicate with Management on inventory levels and out of stock situations due to possible fluctuations in demand
Is an active participant in MS Walker social media initiatives
Maintain professional and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, trade shows, conventions, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
Accomplish other duties as assigned
Requirements
3 - 5 years’ experience in beverage sales or food and beverage management
Experience in the wine and spirits industry preferred
Relationship building and selling skills a must
