
Recreational Gymnastics Director

Position Overview
The Recreational Gymnastics Director leads and oversees all recreational gymnastics programming for kindergarten through teen athletes. This role is responsible for curriculum development, coach development, class quality, enrollment growth, and creating an exceptional experience for families.
We are looking for a high-energy leader who loves kids, understands gymnastics progression, and thrives in building systems, coaching staff, and growing programs.
Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Development
Oversee all recreational gymnastics classes (Youth through Advanced)
Design and maintain structured curriculum and skill progressions
Ensure safe, organized, and high-quality class delivery
Evaluate and update program structure as needed
Coordinate with the Kindergym, Ninja, and Team Directors on gym-wide goals and programming
Staff Leadership & Development
Hire, train, mentor, and evaluate recreational coaches
Lead regular staff meetings and training workshops
Create consistent coaching standards and expectations
Provide ongoing feedback and professional development
Collaborate on staff scheduling
Be available to coach classes and lead daytime events as needed
Enrollment & Growth
Work with front desk to maintain healthy waitlists and enrollment flow
Identify opportunities for new class offerings and program expansion
Support marketing initiatives for rec programs, including social media
Customer Experience
Build positive relationships with families
Address parent questions and concerns professionally
Maintain strong communication regarding policies, promotions, and events
Ensure athletes are progressing and engaged
Operations & Safety
Maintain safety standards and equipment checks
Ensure lesson plans and attendance tracking are accurate
Assist with facility organization and overall gym presentation
Enforce policies and risk management procedures
Qualifications Required:
Strong background in youth sports or child development
Minimum 3 years coaching or teaching experience
Leadership or supervisory experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills; familiar with Google Docs and Sheets
Passion for working with children
Preferred:
Experience managing recreational programs
Knowledge of gymnastics progressions and skill tracking
Experience with class management software; familiar with Jackrabbit Class
First Aid / CPR Certified
