Telecommunications BIM Designer
Location:
Tempe, AZ
Overview We are seeking a
Telecommunications BIM Designer
to support telecommunications and low-voltage system designs for complex facility projects. This role focuses on developing and coordinating BIM models while supporting telecommunications engineers and multidisciplinary design teams.
You will play a key role in developing
Revit-based models and construction drawings
that translate telecom system design concepts into fully coordinated design deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage telecommunications BIM models using
Revit
Develop coordinated 3D models across multiple disciplines
Produce telecom system drawings and construction documentation
Coordinate design efforts using
Navisworks
and BIM workflows
Maintain modeling standards aligned with client and company requirements
Support telecom engineers by translating design concepts into constructible models
Perform clash detection and coordination with other design disciplines
Estimate design hours based on markups or design requests
Assist with telecom design documentation and modeling improvements
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
8+ years of Revit BIM design experience
4+ years of telecommunications systems design or construction industry experience
Proficiency with
Navisworks
Experience with
Bluebeam or similar markup software
Understanding of wiring and cabling connections between telecom devices and equipment
Familiarity with design and construction specifications
Experience working within client design standards
Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of Revit MEP design experience
Knowledge of
TIA telecommunications standards
Experience designing telecom systems in
semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facilities
Experience with:
Paging systems
Intercom systems
Audio-visual systems
Fire alarm systems
Access control systems
CCTV systems
Understanding of
control systems and network topology
Software & Tools Design teams use a combination of:
Revit
Navisworks
AutoCAD
Bluebeam
Projects are delivered through
coordinated BIM models, construction specifications, and detailed 2D drawings .
