Sales Development Specialist II - DSD Field (Remote/Travel) The
Sales Development Specialist II - DSD Field
role is to support internal customers and facilitate communication. The position will work closely with the DSD Sales Managers, Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales to support sales strategies and tactics to increase retention and growth of the DSD distribution network.
Essential Functions
Support the DSD Sales Managers cultivation of the National DSD distribution network through in market support, education and training on all new DSD Distributor’s brought into the Niagara network through this strategic expansion.
DSD Field Specialist will be focused solely on developing DSD execution within each of these distributor’s territories through the following actions:
Scheduled weekly visits to contracted DSD Distributors
Facilitate DSD training and communication on all Niagara strategies, portfolio opportunities through education to Niagara, Portfolio of brands and how these should be managed and sold by the DSD distribution teams
Field training and ride‑alongs to conduct hands on training at the retail account level with Sales and Merchandising members of the DSD distributor.
Evaluate, analyze and use field reporting tools to measure effectiveness of DSD distributor support of all Niagara brands and strategies.
Review this Data with DSD Sales manager and director on weekly calls once activity has been captured
Educate DSD distributor leadership on observations and capture of this critical data.
Ensure all blocking and tackling that supports Niagara brands and strategies are being performed on each of these market visits and ride‑alongs
Train the DSD distribution team on up‑selling Niagara brands and why this is important. Support the relationship through building on these relationships
Communication with Niagara internal teams on any DSD related opportunities around Transportation, Planning, Customer Service, Sourcing, Accounting, Legal, and Manufacturing. (Problem Solve)
Facilitate quality questions/resolution, audits, and other sales related quality requests
Assist with customer level documentation requests for promotions, special items, etc.
Work with DSD Sales Managers and Director on any Retail Customer specific bid support and new item rollout closures.
Triage customer and account issues and partner with all teams to identify resolutions
Facilitate execution of all special programs (ex. causal marketing, cross‑promotional, special bonus pack promotions, etc.)
Work closely with Sales leadership and DSD distributors to understand internal goals and executing specific programs that meet Niagara and customer sales objectives
Optimize use of customer reporting tools and proprietary systems. Generate all required reports and analyze data to identify business trends and opportunities
Support Sales Managers efforts to achieve annual Forecast Accuracy
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel and Advanced PowerPoint skills
Travel: 75%
