About Club Pelican Bay Naples, FL | Opened in 1980, Club Pelican Bay is a private, member‑owned club located in Naples, Florida. It features 27 holes of championship golf presented as three 9‑hole courses aptly named Club, Pelican, and Bay. Situated on nearly 240 acres, the club is anchored by a 50,000‑square‑foot, Florida Vernacular‑inspired clubhouse completed in 2017, housing multiple dining venues for members and their guests. Complementing the clubhouse are the new spa & fitness center, golf shop, and locker rooms. The club has also invested in a state‑of‑the‑art golf training center with modern technology.

Position Overview Title: Director of Golf

Reports to: General Manager

Supervises: All golf operations team members

The Director of Golf (DOG) will report to the General Manager and will have the experience and knowledge to build a premier golf operation and a strong team. The DOG will have a warm and engaging presence and continue to enhance the culture of the club by setting high standards of service, developing standard operating procedures, and training staff to consistently execute on these standards. The DOG must be collaborative, communicative, and quickly assimilate into the team and become a high‑performing team member as well.

Essential Job Functions

Develop and manage the fiscal responsibilities for all golf areas, including planning, forecasting, budget development, management, and creating accurate monthly reports.

Assimilate and build relationships with current staff members; design and implement performance strategies that promote a positive workplace, enhance key employee retention, and improve overall member satisfaction.

Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluating new golf operations staff.

Engage all member constituencies to drive participation, excitement, and involvement in the game.

Take an active role in onboarding new members.

Take initiative in communicating with the director of Food & Beverage and Golf Course Superintendent on upcoming events, guests on property, and daily activities.

Create and implement exciting tournaments and programming while honoring the current traditions of the club.

Elevate the instructional programming, implementing relevant technologies and training staff on the art of teaching while working closely with the Director of Instruction.

Develop effective communication channels with the Membership, promoting new merchandise arrivals, new golf upcoming events, event winners, course maintenance schedules, and highlighting the accomplishments of staff.

Develop and oversee a profitable merchandise concession that is consistent with Members' demographic and needs.

Play golf with a variety of Members when time permits.

Represent the Club in a professional and positive manner both on and off the property.

Enforce and uphold club rules, policies, and standards with Members in a professional, respectful, and consistent manner.

Ensure an exceptional and equitable experience for all golf members with equal attention to both men’s and women’s golf programs, events, and player development.

Knowledge and experience liaising directly with a director of agronomy and their team.

Experience and Qualifications

Class A, PGA or LPGA Member in good standing.

A minimum of five years of experience as a Class A professional at a private club.

Must be passionate about the profession.

High‑level proficiency in MS Office applications and other technology.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

Maintains a professional image within the club and the South Florida PGA Section.

Must understand the seasonality of the South Florida market.

Compensation and Benefits The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
