
Golf Course Mechanic

The Golf Course Mechanicmaintains, diagnoses, and repairs specialized turf equipment, including reel mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engines (gas/diesel) . Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, reel grinding/sharpening, hydraulic repairs, record-keeping, parts inventory management, and training staff on safe equipment operation.
Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance (greasing, oil changes, filter changes) and repair engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and braking systems on mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
Cutting Unit Management: Sharpen, grind, and adjust reel mowers to precise standards for greens, tees, and fairways.
Shop Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance shop and storage area.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of repairs, preventative maintenance logs, and equipment service histories.
Inventory Management: Track inventory, order parts, and maintain a stock of necessary supplies.
Operator Training: Instruct staff on the proper, safe use and cleaning of equipment.
Field Repairs: Inspect equipment in the field and perform emergency repairs on the course.
Qualifications
Proven experience repairing diesel, hydraulic, and small engine equipment.
Knowledge of turf equipment (Toro, Jacobsen, John Deere) is preferred.
Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and electrical diagnostics.
Ability to read, interpret, and use technical manuals.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 60-100 pounds.
Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, and reach in confined spaces.
Comfort working in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and chemicals
