Seasonal Laborer - Golf Course Maintenance (temporary position up to 4 months)
POSITION:
Seasonal Laborer - Golf Course Maintenance (temporary position up to 4 months).
DUTIES:
This position assists golf maintenance crews in their day-to-day operations including, but not limited to: operating turf equipment including out-front mowers, greens mower, tee mowers, tractors with 16’ mowers, push mowers, utility vehicles, weed trimmers, sod cutters; cup cutting, helping with aerification at all municipal courses, cleaning restrooms, picking up trash, other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be 16 years of age or older and able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Must have a current and valid Iowa driver’s license and good driving record based on the City of Waterloo’s driver performance criteria. Individual must submit to pre-employment, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug testing. Failure to pass the pre-employment drug test will result in withdrawal of the employment offer. Failure to pass alcohol or drug testing after employment begins will result in immediate termination. Applicant must provide and wear steel-toed shoes and long pants while working.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer experience in turf equipment operations.
WAGE:
Up to $17.50 per hour, based on qualifications. Time and one‑half after 40 hours in the specified workweek. No insurance or benefits.
START DATE:
Varies – May 2026 through October 2026
HOURS:
6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, one‑half hour unpaid lunch. Minimal overtime.
