Summary This is a full-time position for the summer months, working with a Middle Market Broking team to learn to market accounts and build relationships with the carriers, wholesalers and other internal and external resources. The position requires day-to-day marketing tasks and entails a great deal of verbal, electronic and other written communications. Intern will be responsible for completing a project at the direction of their supervisor and present their findings at the end of the program.
Over eight-to-ten weeks, beginning May 28, 2026, and ending on August 7, 2026, the Summer Internship program is a paid multidisciplinary program designed to complement your classroom training and career goals. The program is designed to introduce qualified and talented students to the many facets of a growing insurance brokerage and the industry as a whole. Interns will get opportunities to participate in a wide range of (in-person or virtual) networking and social opportunities across NFP community. Throughout the program interns will work towards a final project, drawing on their experiences across the three product segments, culminating in a presentation to NFP Leadership.
This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility a few days a week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Broking Team in day-to-day marketing tasks
Develop relationships alongside leaders with carriers, wholesalers, Producers & Account Managers
Assist the team with creating and updating carrier contacts and special projects
Assist with creating Executive Summaries
Assist with collection of carrier data such as carrier appetite and guidelines
Assist with online rating/data entry
Assist with creation of coverage comparisons and loss pics
Assist with generating reports from RiskMatch
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be able to initiate and follow through with independent projects
Excellent communication (verbal and writing) and interpersonal skills
Cultivating relationship ability
Strong problem-solving ability
Customer service oriented
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Willing to work up to 40 hours per week
Education and/or Experience
Rising seniors of a four-year university preferred
Demonstrated leadership experience in college, community, internship, or co-op experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Interest in Insurance Industry, Risk Management or Law
Certificates, Licenses, Registration: None

The hourly salary range for this position is $18 to $24. The hourly salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the hourly salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
