Compensation: $80,000 – $91,000 per year
Devereux Texas is seeking a Director of Risk and Quality Management to serve as a key member of the Texas Leadership Team and a vital contributor to national risk and quality initiatives.
This highly impactful, on‑site role ensures safe, high‑quality services for children and adolescents across our programs—including the Autism Intensive Residential Program and other structured therapeutic services on our 49‑acre League City campus.
In this position, you will partner closely with Texas and national leaders to advance proactive risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, high‑reliability systems, and a culture of continuous improvement.

The Director of Risk and Quality Management leads performance improvement and ensures compliance with Joint Commission standards, Praesidium accreditation, and all federal, state, and local regulations. The role supports the Director of Operations with regulatory and contractual compliance and plays a key part in risk management through internal investigations and systemic safety improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management & Safety:
Lead incident response and investigations; oversee emergency preparedness, infection prevention, and environmental safety; use data to drive corrective actions.
Quality Improvement:
Manage quality dashboards and audits; conduct root‑cause analyses; support evidence‑based improvement efforts.
Regulatory & Accreditation Compliance:
Ensure readiness for licensing, Joint Commission, Texas Joint Commission, Texas Health and Human Services Commission Standards, Medicaid, and Praesidium reviews; interpret requirements; support overall compliance.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Serve on the Texas Senior Management Team; partner with national quality and safety leaders; provide coaching and training across departments
About Devereux Texas Devereux Texas provides a comprehensive continuum of care exclusively for children and adolescents, including specialized residential treatment for youth with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and co‑occurring emotional and behavioral needs. Programs include the Autism Intensive Residential Program for youth ages 6–17 and a structured therapeutic campus environment on a 49‑acre property in League City, featuring recreation areas, walking trails, gymnasium, playgrounds, and immersive therapeutic supports. All care is grounded in trauma‑informed practice, individualized treatment, evidence‑based programming, and a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health care, social work, education, law or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Must obtain and maintain licensure as Texas Child Care Administrator.
At least two years experience in quality improvement and/or risk management, preferably in the healthcare field.
Proficient computer skills.
Valid driver license must be maintained.
