Senior Preconstruction Manager - Commercial Interiors

A well-established and growing commercial interiors construction firm is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts on complex interior build‑outs and renovations across corporate, healthcare, life sciences, higher education, and commercial office environments.

Senior Preconstruction Manager Responsibilities

Lead and manage the full preconstruction process for commercial interiors projects from concept through GMP

Oversee budgeting, estimating, value engineering, and cost modeling for interior renovations and build‑outs

Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates using market data and historical cost analysis

Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, constructability issues, and cost risks

Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal operations teams to align scope, schedule, and budget

Assist in schedule development and milestone tracking during preconstruction

Prepare detailed trade scopes, bid packages, and subcontractor leveling

Provide strategic guidance on interior systems, finishes, phasing, and occupied‑space construction

Mentor junior estimators and support continuous improvement of preconstruction processes

Senior Preconstruction Manager Qualifications

8+ years of experience in commercial interiors construction

Strong background in preconstruction, estimating, and project delivery

Proven experience with corporate interiors, healthcare interiors, life sciences, or higher‑ed projects

Ability to manage multiple projects in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments

Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑facing skills

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (experience considered in lieu)
