We are representing a well-regarded civil engineering and land development firm seeking a skilled Civil Designer or Civil Design Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on CAD experience in a civil engineering setting, a solid understanding of land development workflows, and the ability to produce high‑quality drawings across a range of project types — from grading and drainage to street improvements and utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting
Prepare preliminary and final maps, plans, drawings, exhibits, and digital data files using CAD software
Develop detailed grading plans with proper drainage, slope stability, and site accessibility in mind
Perform earthwork calculations to balance cut and fill and minimize project costs
Produce street, sewer, water, storm drain, grading, and other engineering drawings as directed
Implement erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with project and regulatory requirements
CAD Management & Standards
Work within established CAD specifications, formats, and base files required by private firms and public agencies
Prepare drawings in compliance with agency and company graphic standards
Maintain organized CAD files and project databases in accordance with company CADD standards
Perform daily backups of CAD drawings and manage file version control
Scale and adapt drawings to meet specific project or agency requirements
Team Support & Collaboration
Incorporate updates and revisions as directed by project engineers and land development management
Collaborate effectively with engineering and design teams in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment
Support other CAD users as needed based on level of expertise

Qualifications
Associate’s degree in CAD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field — or equivalent experience
3–5 years of CAD drafting experience, preferably within a civil engineering or land development firm
Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD platform
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
Solid understanding of basic civil engineering principles, terminology, and design processes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical direction accurately
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a team‑oriented environment
