Job Title: Civil Designer
We are seeking a skilled Civil Designer to gather and assemble technical data from various sources to develop comprehensive engineering plans for design and construction. The ideal candidate will develop engineering plan sets, including site layouts, mass grading plans, construction details, plans and profiles, cross sections, and earthwork volume calculations using AutoCAD Civil3D. Additionally, you will develop survey point lists, alignments, and earthwork surfaces for field construction purposes, and create as‑built documentation drawings. Your expertise will ensure drawings are complete and accurate, while also developing 2D and 3D renderings when required.
Responsibilities
Gather and assemble technical data to develop engineering plans.
Develop engineering plan sets including site layouts and construction details.
Create survey point lists, alignments, and earthwork surfaces for field construction.
Check drawings for completeness and accuracy.
Develop 2D and 3D renderings as needed.
Collaborate with engineers or scientists on project work.
Assist in the development and maintenance of CAD standards.
Coordinate work with other drafters or CAD designers within the region.
Integrate CAD with other technology solutions such as GIS, drones, and AI.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the solid waste industry is preferred.
Bachelors or associates degree in civil, geological, environmental engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Civil3D.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
