Zing Recruiting is partnering with a growing pharmaceutical distribution organization to identify a

Vice President of Sales

who will lead national sales strategy and drive revenue growth across key healthcare channels.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing and executing sales strategy, leading a high-performing sales organization, and strengthening relationships with healthcare customers across the pharmaceutical distribution ecosystem.

Position Overview The Vice President of Sales will lead and execute the company’s overall sales strategy while managing a national sales organization. This leader will drive business development, expand strategic partnerships, and strengthen relationships across healthcare distribution channels including pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and healthcare networks.

This role requires a hands‑on sales leader who can establish clear performance metrics, coach sales leaders, and build a culture of accountability and growth.

Key Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

Develop and execute national sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals

Identify new market opportunities and expand relationships across healthcare distribution channels

Partner with executive leadership on pricing strategies, growth initiatives, and go‑to‑market planning

Sales Leadership

Lead, coach, and mentor a high‑performing national sales organization

Establish clear KPIs, performance metrics, and accountability standards

Develop regional and key account leaders to maximize team performance

Customer & Market Development

Build and maintain relationships with key healthcare customers including pharmacies, hospitals, and long‑term care facilities

Oversee contract negotiations, RFPs, and strategic partnerships

Ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction

Operational Leadership

Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reporting

Analyze market data and sales performance to guide strategy

Collaborate with compliance, regulatory, supply chain, and marketing teams to support business objectives

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and recent, relevant industry experience is required.

10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience

Experience within pharmaceutical distribution or wholesale generics

Proven experience managing multi‑regional or national sales teams

Strong background in contract negotiation and key account management

Deep understanding of the U.S. pharmaceutical distribution model and regulatory environment

Knowledge of FDA, DEA, and DSCSA compliance considerations

Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop high‑performing teams

Ideal Background Candidates with experience selling into the following healthcare channels are highly preferred:

Retail pharmacies

Hospitals

Long‑term care facilities

Healthcare networks

Government healthcare programs

Animal health distribution channels
