
Customer Service Representative: Property Tax Specialist I

Reporting directly to the Property Tax Manager, responsible for processing tax related transactions and providing customer service to the general public.
Responsibilities
Processes property tax transactions and general provides customer service
Resolves inquiries from the public regarding property tax matters
Prepares daily cash, credit card, and check deposits in compliance with cash handling processes and procedures
Prepares and issues tax certificates
Processes mail and walk-in motor vehicle registration renewals
Processes and prepares mail to scan to the remittance processor
Serves as a point of contact for mortgage companies requesting tax statements and prepares necessary information to be sent for further processing
Researches and processes returned mail including updating the Williamson Central Appraisal District of new information
Processes ownership changes and produces invoices when necessary
Maintain historical records using records retention guidelines
Take phone calls during high call volume and for escalated issues
Assists with over sixty-five (65) and disability tax exemptions
Performs registration renewals during high customer traffic
Attends all meetings and training, as required
Performs special duties as assigned

Physical Demands
Position involves prolonged sitting at a workstation, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, repetitive motions, and standing
Position involves occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty (50) pounds and exertion of up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force to move objects
Environmental Factors
Work is primarily indoors in an air‑conditioned environment
Occasional travel outside of office for training as required
Irregular Hours
Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of experience in customer service and cash handling in a fast‑paced environment
Two (2) years of basic computer navigation experience
Licenses and Certifications
Tax Assessor-Collector Association of Texas (TACA) Professional County Collector (PCC) Certification — Required within four (4) years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
One (1) year of property tax and/or motor vehicle experience
One (1) year of call center or information services experience
