Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Body Shop Estimator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for an individual with experience in collision repair estimating who can perform thorough inspections, accurately assess damages, and create detailed repair estimates for customers and insurance providers. The Body Shop Estimator plays a key role in ensuring repair accuracy, maintaining profitability, and delivering an exceptional customer experience from estimate to final inspection.
Key Responsibilities Damage Assessment & Estimating
Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles (heavy, moderate, and light-duty)
Evaluate repairable vs. replaceable components
Accurately estimate repair costs consistent with company pricing, labor rates, and profit goals
Prepare detailed damage reports for customers, accounts, and insurance companies
Obtain required authorizations and signatures
Customer & Insurance Communication
Meet with customers and fleet accounts to explain repair scope, timelines, and costs
Serve as liaison between the body shop, customers, and insurance representatives
Provide clear written and verbal communication throughout the repair process
Documentation & System Management
Draft approved work orders and enter them into the Full Bay system
Record and maintain detailed repair documentation
Track repair progress and update necessary files
Review vehicle repairs and participate in final inspection quality checks
Operational Excellence
Ensure repair accuracy and completeness before vehicle delivery
Maintain organized, compliant documentation practices
Support high-volume workflow while meeting deadlines
Qualifications Required:
Valid Minnesota Driver's License
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Ability to read and interpret reports, technical procedures, and repair manuals
Preferred
2+ years of Body Shop Estimator experience
2-4 years of experience in a paint or body repair environment
Experience working with commercial trucks or heavy-duty vehicles (a plus)
