Title:
Information Technology – Cybersecurity Intern
Location:
Pascagoula, MS or Mandeville, LA
Position Overview:
The IT Intern supporting Cybersecurity assists in protecting systems, data, and users by supporting cybersecurity operations, compliance activities, and security awareness initiatives.
Role Focus:
Security operations support, compliance, and risk awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with monitoring security tools and alerts under supervision
Help maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation
Support antivirus updates, patching, and access reviews
Assist with vendor security questionnaires and audits
Participate in security awareness and training initiatives
Skills Developed:
Cyber hygiene, risk awareness, compliance documentation, security tooling fundamentals.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Skills & Abilities
Basic understanding of IT concepts, such as programming languages, database management, and cybersecurity
Basic typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong problem-solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact professionally with company personnel
Adaptable to new technologies and new situations
Detail-oriented and able to prioritize and manage your workload effectively
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong desire to learn and improve your skills
Must be at least 18 years of age
