POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a dedicated Finance Intern that is currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. The candidate will assist with developing a financial framework for tracking, analyzing, and optimizing IT spend. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to vendor management, contract analysis, and technology budgeting while working closely with the IT Vendor Relationship Manager and Contracts & Licensing Specialist.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age
SKILLS
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, charts)
Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is a plus
Interest in IT, software licensing, or vendor management
Good organization and time management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
Basic typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem-solving skillsGood communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptable to new technologies and new situations
Strong desire to learn and improve your skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in building a comprehensive IT spend framework that aligns with departmental and organizational financial goals
Collect, analyze, and categorize IT expenses across software, hardware, cloud services, and professional services
Partner with the Contracts & Licensing Specialist to review agreements for cost, renewal terms, and spend commitments
Help develop reporting templates and dashboards for spend visibility, forecasting, and variance analysis
Support vendor performance analysis and identify cost‑saving opportunities
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance transparency and accountability in IT procurement
Prepare documentation and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations
