Social Media Coordinator

Matrix MKTG, Atlanta, GA, United States

About the Role Matrix MKTG is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to support the execution, tracking, and optimization of social media efforts across select client and agency channels.

This role is highly detail-oriented and execution-focused, with a primary responsibility of capturing and reporting social engagement tied to live events, most notably Backwoods brand activations.

While engagement tracking and reporting are the primary focus, this role will also support content creation for Matrix’s owned channels and assist with social calendar management for assigned clients. This is a junior-level role with growth potential, ideal for someone who understands the social media landscape and wants to sharpen their skills in a fast-paced, culture-driven agency environment.

Responsibilities Event Engagement Tracking and Reporting (Primary Focus)

Monitor and track real-time and post-event social engagement for Backwoods activations including story mentions, feed posts, tags, hashtag usage, and user-generated content.

Capture and organize social data during live events such as festivals, pop-ups, and brand activations.

Maintain accurate engagement logs, screenshots, and links for reporting.

Support post-event recap decks and performance summaries with clean, reliable data.

Identify standout content, high-performing creators, and notable cultural moments.

Social Media Support (Clients and Matrix Channels)

Assist in managing social calendars for assigned client accounts including scheduling posts and confirming copy, assets, and timing.

Ensure content aligns with brand voice and approval processes.

Support Matrix MKTG’s owned social channels through light content creation including Instagram Stories, Reels, carousels, and behind-the-scenes moments.

Capture content on-site during Matrix events or brand activations.

Publish content across platforms, primarily Instagram, with others as needed.

Content and Community Support

Assist with caption writing, story copy, and engagement prompts.

Monitor comments and direct messages and flag items that require escalation.

Support social listening and trend tracking relevant to Matrix clients and culture.

Maintain organized asset folders and content archives.

Internal Collaboration and Workflow

Work closely with Client Services, Social, and Experiential teams.

Follow established workflows, deadlines, and quality standards.

Communicate clearly when tasks are completed or when additional support is needed.

Be available for event weekends and non-traditional hours when activations occur.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or content coordination (agency experience is a plus).

Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and social engagement mechanics.

Experience tracking and reporting social metrics.

Comfortable working in fast-paced, live-event environments.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Basic content creation skills including iPhone capture, Stories, Reels, and simple edits.

Familiarity with social scheduling tools and reporting platforms is a plus.

Interest in culture, music, lifestyle brands, and experiential marketing.

What We’re Looking For

A junior social media professional who already understands social media but wants to sharpen their skills.

Someone who enjoys tracking and organizing data just as much as creating content.

A dependable team player who is responsive and coachable.

Someone who understands that great reporting helps tell great brand stories.

Why Matrix MKTG

Work on high-profile cultural moments and live events.

Be part of a collaborative, culture-first agency environment.

Gain exposure to major brands, experiential marketing, and real-time social strategy.

Clear opportunity for growth as skills and responsibilities expand.
