Position Summary TCL North America is seeking a highly analytical and strategically minded Strategy Planning Analyst to support competitive strategy and long-range planning across the North American consumer electronics market. This role is critical in delivering actionable market intelligence, competitive insights, and data-driven recommendations that enable profitable growth across retail channels.

Duties May Include But Are Not Limited To

Market Intelligence & Competitive Strategy

Conduct ongoing market and competitive intelligence analysis across industry trends, retail sell-in and sell-through data, pricing shifts, promotional activity, and new product launches.

Develop comprehensive competitive landscape reporting, including SWOT analysis and strategic implications for TCL's portfolio.

Analyze market share trends using syndicated and POS data sources (e.g., Circana, Stackline, Counterpoint, retailer-reported data) to identify risks, growth drivers, and whitespace opportunities.

Monitor emerging technologies such as QD-Mini LED, large-screen growth segments, and Smart OS advancements to inform strategic positioning and roadmap alignment.

Provide proactive insights that anticipate competitive risks and recommend counter-strategies.

Strategic Planning & Business Insights

Support annual operating plans and long-range strategic planning processes with robust forecasting, scenario modeling, and market sizing analysis.

Identify whitespace opportunities across channels, product segments, and price tiers to unlock incremental growth.

Develop data-backed recommendations to optimize product mix, pricing architecture, and channel strategy.

Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product Planning, and Marketing to align go-to-market strategies with evolving market dynamics.

Support business case development for new product introductions and major strategic investments.

Performance Tracking & Executive Reporting

Build and maintain dashboards tracking key performance indicators including revenue, market share, ASP trends, promotional ROI, and inventory health.

Deliver monthly and quarterly executive-ready reports that synthesize complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Conduct detailed performance analysis by retail account (national chains, regional retailers, club, and e-commerce) to inform growth initiatives and negotiation strategies.

Continuously refine reporting tools and frameworks to improve visibility and decision-making speed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Sales to provide fact-based insights that strengthen retail negotiations and joint business planning discussions.

Collaborate with Product Planning and HQ stakeholders to ensure North American market requirements and competitive benchmarks are clearly communicated and incorporated into product strategy.

Serve as a trusted analytical resource across teams, fostering data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Qualification/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field required; MBA preferred.

1-3 years of experience in strategy, business planning, consulting, or market intelligence.

Experience within consumer electronics, durable goods, or CPG industries preferred.

Familiarity with the North American retail landscape, including national, club, and e-commerce channels, strongly preferred.

Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Solid understanding of retail KPIs including sell-in, sell-through, inventory turns, ASP, and gross margin.

Demonstrated ability to translate complex datasets into concise executive-level recommendations.

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

High level of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and strategic thinking.

Working Conditions

This is an on-site position based in Irvine, CA.

Occasional travel may be required to support retail meetings, industry research, or internal planning sessions.

Typical office environment with extended periods of computer-based analytical work.
