General Summary The Community Impact Coordinator plays a vital role in connecting families served through the Empowerment Hub and the Food Assistance Program at St. Matthew’s House. The coordinator supports volunteer engagement, coordinates program logistics, and collaborates closely with staff, instructors, and community partners to create a welcoming, resource‑rich environment for every family we serve. St. Matthew’s House is a faith‑based 501(c)(3) charitable organization that exists to transform lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison for families participating in the Empowerment Hub and Food Assistance Program.

Provide intake support and referrals to external resources, including employment, housing, education, and healthcare.

Receive calls and walk‑in requests from individuals seeking help and connect them with appropriate resources.

Build positive relationships with participants to maintain a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

Coordinate logistics for Empowerment Hub programs, including class/event scheduling, setup, and material preparation.

Work with the engagement team to ensure adequate volunteer coverage for classes, workshops, and food distribution events.

Manage instructor schedules: confirm attendance, call and follow up with instructors, and arrange substitutes. Serve as a backup instructor when needed.

Maintain communication with participants, staff, and instructors via phone, text, and email to confirm schedules and relay updates.

Monitor the Empowerment Hub email account, coordinate room use, and manage the shared Outlook calendar to keep schedules organized.

Collect and track attendance, engagement data, and participant outcomes for reporting purposes.

Oversee daily operations at the Empowerment Hub, ensuring technology and equipment (e.g., projectors, sound systems, HDMI, class computers) function properly.

Restock supplies, assist instructors with tech setup and troubleshooting, and maintain a professional and organized space.

Support facility closing procedures: power down equipment, reset rooms, and coordinate with cleaning crews for regular maintenance.

Manage Empowerment Hub space rentals, including communication with external partners, payment coordination with accounting, and calendar updates.

Support recruitment, training, and guidance of volunteers for both the Empowerment Hub and Food Assistance Program.

Ensure volunteers understand their tasks, feel supported, and contribute effectively during their shifts.

Oversee class participation for recovery program clients, ensuring attendance, materials distribution, and class guidelines are followed.

Communicate regularly with recovery leadership to manage updated rosters and transitions (every 4 weeks for men, quarterly for women).

Coordinate name lists and report attendance as needed.

Maintain regular communication with weekly instructors and partner organizations to support ongoing collaboration and scheduling.

Communicate in English, Spanish, or Creole as needed to ensure inclusive participation across all programs.

Continue and build new community partnerships that provide programming to the Empowerment Hub and/or Food Assistance Program.

Requirements

Passion for the mission and vision of St. Matthew’s House.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of experience working with families, volunteers, or community programs.

Excellent organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Comfortable working in a faith-based, compassionate environment.

Available for flexible hours, including evenings or weekends for events.
