I&E Designer (Instrumentation & Electrical Designer)

Location: Houston, TX or Oklahoma City, OK (On-site – Downtown Office) Employment Type

Overview

We are seeking an

Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Designer

to support industrial and midstream oil & gas projects. This role is responsible for developing

complete construction and maintenance design packages , including instrumentation layouts, electrical schematics, and communication systems. The ideal candidate will have strong

AutoCAD experience , knowledge of

instrumentation and electrical design , and familiarity with

industry standards such as NEC and NEMA . Key Responsibilities

Draft, design, and check

instrumentation and electrical drawings Develop

construction and maintenance design packages

based on project scope Create and maintain

Bill of Materials (BOMs) Manage

drawing revisions, document control, and change management Develop

design standards and template drawings Coordinate with

project managers, engineers, vendors, and other disciplines Ensure designs meet

safety standards and project specifications Produce

accurate and constructible engineering drawings Support

vendor equipment integration and installation Complete projects

within schedule and budget Ensure designs meet

operability and customer requirements Travel occasionally as required Typical Drawing Packages Include

Instrument location drawings Cable sizing for instrumentation and low voltage wiring Cable tray layouts and sizing 24VDC power, control, and shutdown schematics 120VAC power and control schematics PLC panel layouts and schematics Junction box layouts and wiring diagrams Required Technical Knowledge

Electrical fundamentals National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) National Electrical Safety Code (NFPA 70E) NEMA standards IEC electrical symbology Required Software Skills

AutoCAD Plant3D CADWorx Autodesk Vault Adept Microsoft Office Suite

(Word, Excel, Outlook) Education & Experience

Associate degree in

Electrical Design, Instrumentation Design , or related field Technical/trade school certification with relevant experience Experience required

5–8 years of industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation design experience Experience supporting

industrial or oil & gas facilities
