Role Description Mothers to Daughters is seeking a PR / Communications Lead to help manage written communications for the organization. This volunteer role focuses on developing newsletters and preparing press releases that share updates about our programs, partnerships, and events.

The PR / Communications Lead will help translate the organization’s work into clear, engaging communications that keep our community informed and help increase awareness of our mission. This role will work closely with leadership to gather updates, organize key information, and turn it into polished communications for our audience.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and distribute newsletters to keep the Mothers to Daughters community informed about programs, events, and updates

Write press releases announcing major initiatives, partnerships, and milestones

Gather updates from team members and translate them into clear communications

Help maintain consistent messaging across organizational communications

Coordinate with the social media team to align messaging when appropriate

Support communications related to key events and announcements

Qualifications

Strong writing and editing skills

Experience or interest in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing

Ability to translate information into clear and engaging written content

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently in a remote volunteer environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience writing newsletters, press releases, or organizational updates

Familiarity with email platforms such as Mailchimp, Substack, or similar tools

Interest in women’s leadership, mentorship, and community building
