Field Marketing Manager Overview The Field Marketing Manager will play a crucial role in developing and executing our field marketing strategy. Field marketing involves direct engagement with potential customers through events, trade shows, and other in-person activities. It is a critical component of our marketing strategy, designed to create brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales opportunities by connecting with prospects in a personal and impactful way. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for expanding our field marketing activities from 1‑2 events per month to 5‑8 events per month. You will have the autonomy to make strategic decisions regarding budget allocation and will collaborate closely with various teams to achieve our lead and opportunity generation targets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development: Build and implement a comprehensive annual field marketing and event plan that aligns with sales segment pipeline targets. Strategy includes budget ownership, ensuring a positive ROI.
Pipeline Ownership: Own a target and get creative or take risks to maximize event performance.
Event Planning and Execution: Plan, organize, and execute 5‑8 events per month—including trade shows, conferences, virtual events, and local events—ensuring each aligns with our brand and goals.
Budget Management: Make informed decisions on budget allocation to maximize the impact and ROI of field marketing activities.
Project Management: Maintain an active calendar of events and the tasks associated with each event, including contracts and vendor relationships, to ensure each event runs smoothly.
Collaboration: Partner with cross‑functional teams—including email marketing, sales, sales enablement, revenue operations, event marketing, and demand generation—to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
Event Promotion: Work with sales and demand generation to build a promotional plan to maximize event attendance.
Process Improvement: Develop and refine processes to streamline field marketing operations and improve efficiency, including SLAs for cross‑functional teams and automation for pre‑ and post‑event communications.
Performance Analysis: Track and analyze the performance of field marketing activities, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
3‑7 years of experience in event management, field marketing, or a related role.
Ability to build and maintain performance forecast and report actual results with Tableau and/or Salesforce.
Understanding of the different needs across various event sizes (20‑person dinner, 20k attendee trade show) and formats (virtual, in‑person).
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with excellent organizational and project‑management skills.
Data‑driven decision making and independent work style.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excels in a team‑centered, collaborative environment.
Willingness to travel to events as needed.
