Goodspeed Merrill (GM) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Assistant to support a thriving and growing Corporate practice. Work in partnership and under the direction of attorneys at Goodspeed Merrill to develop close relationships with clients, establish legal needs, help them understand their options, and support their representation in court and/or negotiations.

In this role, you will handle legal assistant/admin duties regularly including scheduling appointments with clients, planning meetings in-person or on-line, maintaining calendars, and in most cases supporting multiple attorneys by handling legal research, client billing matters and various legal correspondence.

We are looking for 4+ years of related experience & knowledge, and an ability to think critically, analyze problems, and recommend solutions. Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience supporting a corporate practice group. Candidates should be highly detailed and organized with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of team members.

The successful candidate will be familiar with standard legal concepts, practices, and procedures necessary to support a growing general practice. They will be comfortable relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with a certain degree of creativity and latitude, while performing a variety of tasks under the general supervision of the Practice lead and/or accountable attorney.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant

Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting a corporate practice group

Experience in working concurrently with multiple attorneys in a practice

Knowledge of and experience with both Colorado and Federal court systems and the Rules of Civil Procedure (CRCP/FRCP)

Bachelor's degree is a plus

County court experience is also desirable

·

Excellent verbal/written communication skills

·

Detail oriented and organized

·

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·

Familiarity with and or ability to learn systems necessary for the practice of law (ProLaw, MS Office, MS Teams, etc)

Responsibilities and Key Results

Manage day to day activities including documentation of matters in ProLaw

Calendar deadlines, court hearings/trials, and arbitration deadlines/hearings

Provide organization to client documents and related documentation

Communicate with Attorneys and/or Partners on work status and client issues that arise

Achieve positive reviews/feedback from clients

Proportionately contribute to overall client satisfaction and firm operating goals
