
Business Development Representative

Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers. This role owns the full front-end business development cycle from prospecting and outreach to closing new accounts and maintaining long-term customer relationships. The BDR plays a critical role in expanding market presence, generating revenue, and building strategic partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identify and research potential customers aligned with target market segments
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects
Utilize outbound strategies including cold calls, email campaigns, networking, referrals, and social selling
Attend industry events and conferences as appropriate
Initiate contact with prospective clients to understand needs and pain points
Conduct discovery conversations to assess fit and opportunity size
Present company offerings in a compelling, consultative manner
Coordinate with internal stakeholders as needed to support solution development
Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from initial contact to close
Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract terms
Negotiate agreements and close new business
Serve as the primary point of contact for newly acquired customers
Ensure smooth onboarding and transition to long-term account management (if applicable)
Maintain ongoing relationships to drive retention and upsell opportunities
Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM system
Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on performance metrics
Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to leadership

1–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or related role
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience using CRM tools preferred
