
Indirect Tax Manager Associate

Position Overview
International has a great opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager Associate onsite at our corporate headquarters in Lisle, Illinois.
Working closely with the Company’s Indirect Tax Senior Manager and Tax Director, this exciting opportunity allows you to partner with associates across the organization to resolve a variety of indirect tax matters. This role provides broad exposure to business operations and cross-functional collaboration while enabling you to deliver strategic indirect tax guidance, enhance processes, and support compliance and planning initiatives.
The position plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate tax filings, payments, accounting/reporting, and audit defense, while maintaining current knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate U.S. sales & use tax, B&O tax and business license filings and G/L reporting.
Review and maintain customer exemption certificates to ensure 100% coverage of exempt transactions.
Prepare and submit Federal Excise Tax (FET) returns.
Work with external service providers to ensure accurate personal property tax compliance; coordinate funding activities for timely tax payments.
Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations related to Sales & Use taxes, Property taxes and Federal Excise taxes.
Support tax audit defense by gathering documentation and responding to requests.
Work with business teams to comply with the requirements of various credits and incentives available to the company and monetize these benefits.
Prepare and update desk procedures and process documentation.
Partner with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Business Leaders) to resolve tax matters.
Perform tax research and assess tax implications surrounding business transactions.
Develop, improve, and streamline indirect tax processes and procedures.
In addition to core responsibilities, this role will manage special indirect tax projects and undertake additional assignments as business needs evolve.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of federal, state, local or international tax experience.
Master's degree and at least 2 years of federal, state, local or international tax experience.
At least 6 years of federal, state, local or international tax experience.
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Tax or Accounting and/or CPA.
Experience with ERPs (e.g. Oracle, SAP).
Experience with tax engines (e.g. OneSource, Vertex).
Experience with RPA or ETL tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI).
Background in automotive manufacturing and/or automotive leasing business.
Work experience at public accounting firms.
