
PEMB Estimator

The PEMB Estimator at Worldwide Steel Buildings is responsible for producing accurate and timely estimates for pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects using MBS (Metal Building Software) and proprietary software platforms from our manufacturing partners. This role involves engaging with customers, contractors, architects, and engineers to clarify project scope, identify cost-effective solutions, and generate comprehensive proposals aligned with both client needs and company capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed PEMB estimates using MBS software and other manufacturer-specific platforms used by Worldwide Steel Buildings.
Review and analyze RFQs, architectural drawings, and project specifications to determine scope and requirements.
Collaborate with customers, sales staff, project managers, architects, and contractors to clarify and define project parameters.
Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities to optimize design and cost.
Coordinate with manufacturing partners to obtain current pricing, technical data, and support.
Develop and present clear, detailed proposals and scope documents based on the prepared estimates.
Maintain thorough documentation of estimates, revisions, and correspondence.
Support seamless project handoff from estimating to project management teams.
Participate in internal meetings and contribute to the improvement of estimating processes.
Collaborate with sales consultants to understand client priorities, budget targets, and technical questions.
Assist sales team in value engineering proposals and change order pricing when needed.
Provide pre-bid consultation on framing systems, roof profiles, bracing strategies, mezzanines, and other key PEMB components.
Manage quote status and tracking within a CRM system such as Salesforce or Netsuite.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in PEMB estimating, preferably within a PEMB manufacturing or supply company.
Proficiency in Metal Building Software (MBS) is required.
Experience with other PEMB manufacturer software platforms (e.g., VP Command, NBS, eQuote) is a strong plus.
Working knowledge of PEMB components, systems, and construction practices.
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
