Position Summary The Regional Sales Manager (MW & SE) is responsible for driving profitable sales growth, distribution expansion, and brand execution across the Midwest and Southeast regions. This role owns regional performance through direct management of broker partners, execution of national and regional sales strategies, and development of key retailers and distributor relationships. The ideal candidate brings strong CPG fundamentals, hands‑on experience working with brokers, and a proven ability to grow premium brands in competitive categories such as edible oils, condiments, or specialty foods.
Key Responsibilities Sales & Distribution Growth
Own and deliver regional sales targets, distribution objectives, and execution of KPIs across grocery, natural and specialty channels.
Drive new item authorizations, distribution expansion, shelf placement for BONO assortment within assigned accounts and territory. Promotional planning, management and execution. Execute ROI analysis, post promotional analysis.
Identify and pursue incremental growth opportunities within existing customers and emerging regional accounts.
Broker Management & Execution
Lead, train, and hold broker partners accountable to regional priorities, sales targets, and execution standards.
Conduct regular business reviews, ride‑alongs, and performance evaluations to ensure consistent market coverage and results.
Align broker activity with national strategy, promotional calendars, and product launch priorities.
Customer & Account Management
Build strong relationships with regional and divisional buyers, category managers, and distributors.
Support national account strategy through regional execution, follow‑up, and customer engagement.
Collaborate with distributors to improve service levels, inventory management, and promotional execution.
Trade & Promotional Management
Execute approved trade spend and promotional plans to drive velocity, trial, and repeat purchase.
Ensure effective in‑store execution of promotions, displays, pricing, and merchandising.
Partner with marketing to support tastings, demos, events.
Category & Market Insights
Utilize syndicated data, distributor reports, and field insights to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.
Communicate competitive activity and regional market feedback to internal teams.
Support fact‑based selling and category discussions with customers when appropriate.
Forecasting & Planning
Participate in regional forecasting, demand planning, and sales reporting.
Manage regional budgets and controllable expenses responsibly.
Provide accurate, timely reporting on sales performance, distribution gains, and pipeline activity.
Qualifications & Experience
7–10+ years of CPG sales experience, preferably in food specialty, or premium grocery categories.
Proven experience managing broker networks across multi‑state regions.
Demonstrated success growing distribution and velocity in grocery, natural, and specialty retail.
Familiarity with premium food positioning, imports, or Mediterranean / better‑for‑you categories strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of trade spend, promotions, and in‑store execution.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage a large geographic territory.
Proficient in CRM tools, Excel, and syndicated data platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, SPINS preferred).
Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
