Apparel Technical Designer (Women’s) Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Apparel Technical Designer
with a strong background in
women’s apparel ,
embroidery and graphic execution ,
pattern making , and
grading . This role is responsible for ensuring fit, construction, and quality meet brand standards from concept through production. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to translate creative vision into technically sound, production-ready garments. Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Fit Develop and maintain accurate technical specifications, measurement charts, and construction details for women’s apparel. Lead fit sessions, evaluate samples, and provide clear, actionable feedback to vendors and pattern makers. Ensure consistent fit across styles, size ranges, and silhouettes. Embroidery & Graphics Execution Partner closely with Design and Product Development to translate embroidery and graphic concepts into production-ready artwork. Review and approve embroidery layouts, stitch counts, placements, and artwork files. Ensure embellishments meet quality, durability, and cost standards while maintaining aesthetic integrity. Pattern Making & Grading Create, review, and update patterns to ensure proper fit, balance, and construction. Manage grading across size ranges, ensuring consistency and scalability for production. Collaborate with internal and external pattern makers to resolve fit and construction challenges. Communicate technical requirements clearly with domestic and overseas vendors. Troubleshoot construction, fit, and quality issues during development and production. Partner with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and Quality teams to meet timelines and cost targets. Quality & Production Readiness Ensure garments meet brand standards for construction, workmanship, and performance. Review pre-production samples and TOP samples for approval. Support continuous improvement in fit, construction methods, and technical processes. Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an
Apparel Technical Designer , preferably in
women’s apparel . Strong expertise in
embroidery and graphic execution , including embellishment techniques and artwork translation. Hands‑on experience with
pattern making and grading . Deep understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabrication. Proficiency in technical design software (e.g., PLM systems, Illustrator, Gerber, Lectra, or similar). Experience working with overseas factories and managing multiple development calendars. Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution‑driven. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or premium women’s apparel brands. Knowledge of embroidery techniques such as appliqué, beading, sequins, and mixed media embellishment. Familiarity with sustainability or ethical production practices. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Why Join Us
