Senior Manager Product Management We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Collector Product within our Patient Pay & Insurance zone. This Senior Product Manager will be responsible for quickly learning the business problems that our zone builds software to address, the current state functionality of our product(s) and the opportunities we have to improve our customers’ key performance metrics. Your job will involve ownership of complex and/or multiple product areas within Collector’s portfolio. This includes understanding both the market and the customer, contributing to product vision, developing business cases, and driving the delivery of our products.

You will also build outcome-focused roadmaps based on general product opportunities as well as athena’s corporate strategies. This senior product manager will have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively articulate business problems and lead cross-functional teams to build impactful solutions. They will be a true leader in their space and be able to evangelize their product vision both internally and to our customers. Ultimately, this product manager will support athena’s mission to improve healthcare for our customers as well as their patients.

This is a hybrid position based in Boston, Massachusetts and expects this person to go to the office approximately 1x per week.

Job Responsibilities

Partner with Product Management leaders to drive portfolio and product strategy

Focus on business problems before solutions

Serve as Product Owner for scrum team(s) covering assigned product area(s)

Define roadmaps, OKRs, epics and user stories that clearly address business problems

Understand market opportunity via user needs, market forces, and applicable business models; with regards to what would best serve our clients today as well as in the future

Maintain an analytic/problem solving mentality

Exercise value driven prioritization and can navigate challenging cross-functional, cross-divisional dependencies

Able to make tough decisions and be the voice of the product vision within the organization

Engage with Sales, CSMs, Product Marketing, and other internal partner teams as needed to determine best ways to communicate product to customers

Employ strong negotiation & logical-reasoning skills to ensure making the right tradeoffs

Support feature rollouts through alpha, beta, and general availability by collaborating with customer-facing teams, analyzing feature impact, and preparing communications

Typical Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in Product Management is required

7+ years of product management experience

Demonstrated success at driving vision and prioritization of products in a dynamic environment using analytic and quantitative capabilities

Prior experience in healthcare and RCM (Revenue Cycle Management) workflows is a big plus

Possess strong technical understanding of Product development

Expert using product management best practices and agile development frameworks

Superb verbal and written communication skills

Expected Compensation $141,000 - $239,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
