Antiquum Farm Winemaker at Antiquum Farm Antiquum Farm Willamette, OR

Antiquum Farm Antiquum Farm, West Linn, OR, United States

Job Description: The Farm

Antiquum Farm represents a paradigmatic shift in intensive wine farming, sustainability, and the pursuit of true terroir. For the past 19 years Antiquum Farm wines have been grown in an entirely self‑sustaining system we have dubbed “Grazing Based Viticulture”. No fertilizers of any kind are used. Instead livestock (pigs, sheep, chickens, geese, and turkeys) graze the vineyards year round in an intensive rotational system. This system utilizes the gut fauna of livestock and cycles of root growth and die‑off to isolate, evolve, and stimulate our soil microbiome. The results have been truly extraordinary. Isolating and evolving the soils microbial populations has untethered our wines from historic, regional, and varietal expectations. The individualistic spirit of these wines bears the truth of the home we love and the ethics of the people who work here. Winemaking at Antiquum Farm must embrace these principals. We seek to make wines of uncompromising truth and quality. We shun the idea of winemaking “style” as we believe that this idea creates a gravitational pull away from the naked truth of place and people.

Production: Antiquum Farm produces approximately 3,000‑4,000 9‑liter cases between eight different wines annually. Antiquum Farm wines are currently distributed in 15 domestic and 4 international markets.
