seeks an experienced and academically fluent Admissions Director to lead enrollment and re-enrollment efforts for our 1st–8th-grade independent school serving bright students with specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and students with ADHD or executive function challenges.
The Admissions Director oversees the full admissions lifecycle, partners closely with Academic Leadership to evaluate student fit, and implements annual enrollment goals established by School Leadership. This role serves on the Administrative Leadership Team, works closely with the Director of Marketing, Communications, and Strategic Initiatives, and is supported by an Admissions Associate.
A strong candidate will understand complex learning profiles and confidently interpret psychoeducational evaluations within a collaborative, committee-based admissions model.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary contact for prospective families and conduct parent and student visits.
Lead the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment and onboarding while executing annual enrollment goals and monitoring admissions metrics.
Review applications in collaboration with Academic Leadership, including interpretation of psychoeducational evaluations and academic testing to assess learning profiles and program fit.
Cultivate relationships with educational consultants, psychologists, literacy professionals, and referral partners.
Lead and coordinate admissions events, including open houses, information sessions, and campus visit programs.
Lead the annual re-enrollment process and monitor attrition trends.
Maintain organized admissions systems, data reporting, and workflow management.
Ensure confidentiality and adherence to ethical admissions practices.
Contribute to the life of the school through participation in events, community programs, and shared student supervision responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, or school leadership within an independent, specialized, or mission-driven school environment.
Demonstrated ability to review and interpret psychoeducational evaluations, academic testing, and school records to assess student learning profiles and program fit.
Experience working within collaborative or committee-based decision-making environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to guide families through complex and emotionally sensitive placement decisions.
Excellent organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple applicants and timelines simultaneously.
Experience using admissions databases, spreadsheets, or CRM systems to track applications, enrollment trends, and admissions data.
Commitment to ethical admissions practices and maintaining the confidentiality of student records.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a school serving students with language-based learning differences or related learning profiles.
Understanding of structured literacy instruction and multisensory teaching approaches (Orton-Gillingham training or familiarity preferred).
Experience collaborating across academic and administrative teams in a school setting.
Experience cultivating referral relationships with educational consultants, psychologists, therapists, and literacy professionals.
Demonstrated comfort managing admissions databases, SIS platforms, or enrollment tracking systems.
Additional Details This is an on-site, 11-month administrative position reporting to the Head of School and the Chief Executive Officer. Salary range is $85,000- $100,000, commensurate with experience.
